No Contact is an app. It cannot see how you are, it cannot call anyone for you, and no person reads what you write in it.

These terms apply to the No Contact app for iOS and Android and, where available, its widget ("the app"), developed by Burak Deniz ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What the app is — and is not

No Contact is a motivational self-care companion for people who have chosen, for themselves, to take distance from a former partner after a breakup. It offers a day counter, an animated world, breathing and grounding exercises, a private journal, unsent letters, encouraging notifications and, on iPhone only, an optional on-device AI feature.

It is not:

a medical device, or medical, psychological, psychiatric or therapeutic advice, diagnosis or treatment;
a substitute for a doctor, psychologist, therapist, counsellor or any other qualified professional;
a crisis, emergency or suicide-prevention service;
monitored by any person. Nobody at No Contact can read your entries, see your mood, or notice that you are struggling.

If you are struggling with your mental health, please talk to a qualified professional. Asking for help is a strength, and the app encourages it.

2. Who may use the app

You must be at least 18 years old to use the app. The app is not directed at children or teenagers, and we ask parents and guardians to use the parental controls on their child's device.

3. "No contact" is your choice — and it is not right for every situation

The app supports a decision you have already made. It does not tell you what to do with your relationships, and nothing in it should be read as an instruction.

Do not use the app to avoid contact that you are legally or practically required to have — for example about shared children, a court order, shared housing, work or money. Follow the law and any professional advice you have been given.
The app is about distance from one person. It never asks you to withdraw from friends, family or anyone who supports you. Please stay close to them.
If you are afraid of a current or former partner, or have been threatened or harmed, contact the police or a domestic-violence service in your country. The app is not a safety tool.
Do not use the app, or anything written in it, to harass, threaten, stalk or harm another person.

4. Messages, notifications and milestones

The encouraging messages, milestone notes and notifications are general, pre-written texts. They are the same for everyone, they are scheduled in advance on your device, and they do not know how you feel, what happened today, or whether you have been in contact with anyone. They are encouragement, not advice, and not a promise about how or when you will feel better. Everyone's pace is different. You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings.

5. On-device AI ("Talk it through" and reflections)

This feature is available on iPhone only; the Android app does not include it. On supported iPhones the app can use Apple's on-device language model to reflect on what you write. Please understand what that means:

You are talking to software, not a person and not a professional. The "Companion" is an AI.
AI-generated text can be wrong, incomplete, insensitive or inappropriate. Do not rely on it for decisions about your health, safety or relationships.
It runs on your device. We do not receive, read or review what you write or what the AI answers, so we cannot correct it or step in.
The app tries to recognise words that suggest self-harm or suicide and, when it does, stops the AI and shows support information instead. This check is a simple word list. It can miss things and it is not a safety guarantee. Never wait for the app to notice that you need help.

The AI features are optional. They run only when you open "Talk it through" or ask for a reflection, and everything else in the app works without them. You can also switch Apple Intelligence off in your iPhone's Settings.

6. Links, helplines and advertising

The app links to findahelpline.com, an independent directory of helplines. We have no commercial relationship with it and earn nothing from it.

The app also contains one advertisement: a link to Online-Therapy.com, an independent online therapy service. If you subscribe after following that link, we earn a commission. It is not an emergency service.

We do not operate, control or guarantee any third-party service, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, advice or fees. Your use of them is between you and them.

7. Your responsibility

Decisions about your relationships, communication, health and wellbeing are yours alone. You use the app's counters, messages, exercises and (on iPhone) AI features at your own discretion and risk. If anything in the app makes you feel worse, please stop using it and talk to someone you trust or to a professional.

8. Purchases and subscriptions

Some or all features may require No Contact Pro, offered as an auto-renewing subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices, the length of any free trial and the renewal period are shown in the app before you buy.

App Store (iPhone)

Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. A free trial, if offered, becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then.
You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies.

Google Play (Android)

Payment is charged to your Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. A free trial, if offered, becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then.
You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in the Google Play app under profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Purchases are processed by Google Play. Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy.

9. Your data

What you write in the app stays on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details; it is part of these terms. Because your content exists only on your device, we cannot recover it if you delete the app or lose your phone.

10. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices or Android devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service or the Google Play Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse-engineer or create derivative works of the app or its content (including the companion character, animations and message library).

11. No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that notifications will always be delivered, or that using the app will lead to any particular emotional, personal or health outcome.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Burak Deniz is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for emotional distress, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app, its messages, its AI features (on iPhone) or any third-party service it links to. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for intentional misconduct. Your mandatory rights as a consumer are not affected.

13. App stores

These terms are between you and Burak Deniz, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. You confirm that you are not located in a country under a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

If you got the app from Google Play, these terms are likewise between you and Burak Deniz, not Google. Google has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and has no warranty obligation for it.

14. Changes and termination

We may update, change or discontinue the app or any feature, and may update these terms. Material changes will appear on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. You can stop using the app and delete it at any time. We may suspend or end the license if you breach these terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
